About Us
Copper Country Home Educators (CCHE) is a nonprofit educational organization that serves home schooling families in the Copper Country area of the Upper Peninsula of MI. This area includes Houghton, Hancock, Calumet, L'Anse, Crystal Falls, Ontonagon and surrounding communities. CCHE is open to all home schooling families regardless of religion, political affiliation or racial heritage.
CCHE provides networking opportunities for area home schooling families primarily through its emailed newsletter - "Updates!". The information on this website, as well as CCHE's facebook pages, blogs and archives are maintained by CCHE volunteers. Regularly, CCHE hosts Parents' Night Out, curriculum sales and other home schooling events in the local area.
Copper Country Home Educators is comprised of a board that oversees the use of the Copper Country Home Educators / CCHE name. CCHE's board members also network with local, regional and national homeschooling groups and education professionals to bring resources to the local home schooling community while educating the general public about home schooling.The board meets quarterly and consists of homeschooling parents from various walks of life. CCHE board meetings are open to the public and announced in the "Updates!". We encourage you to attend the board meetings and become involved further in the home schooling community. Please see that above links or email CCHE to join the "Updates!" email list for more resources, activities, events and ways to participate. The "Updates!" emails come out two or three times weekly. CCHE does not pass on emails/addresses/names from any of our mailing lists to any other groups, organizations or individuals.
